                                On 13 March 2025, the Ministry of Health of the United Republic of Tanzania declared the end of the Marburg virus disease (MVD) outbreak. 
                            
 
                        
                                This is the bi-annual update on the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infections reported to the World Health Organization (WHO) from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

                                Between 1 January and 31 December 2024, a cumulative total of 151 Zika virus disease (ZVD) cases were reported from three states in India (Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra states). 
                            
 
                        
                                On 20 December 2024, after two consecutive incubation periods (total of 42 days) since the second negative PCR test was conducted on 7 November for the last confirmed Marburg case, and without a new confirmed case reported, the Ministry of Health of Rwanda declared the end of the Marburg virus disease (MVD) outbreak, as per the WHO recommendations.
                            
 
                        
                                Between 24 October and 5 December 2024, Panzi health zone in Kwango Province of Democratic Republic of the Congo recorded 406 cases of an undiagnosed disease with symptoms of fever, headache, cough, runny nose and body ache.
                            
 
                        
                                On 9 November 2024, the recommended 42-day countdown to declare the end of the Marburg virus disease (MVD) outbreak in Rwanda commenced, the day after the last confirmed patient tested negative for MVD by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). 
                            
 
                        
                                Between 1 January and 20 October 2024, over 7.3 million malaria cases and 1157 deaths (CFR 0.02%) were reported in Ethiopia.
