PubMedID- 22470444 Since study participants had high prevalence of folate and vitamin b12 deficiencies (27.5% and 9.74%, respectively), these deficiencies were found to increase the risk of hyperhomocysteinemia (2.5 times with folate deficiency and 2.6 times with vitamin deficiency) in this population [2].
