PubMedID- 21191443 A pilot study using viscogonioplasty in combination with cataract extraction in patients with poorly controlled narrow angle glaucoma showed promising results, with a reduction in intraocular pressure, but the exact contribution of cataract removal in lowering intraocular pressure when combined with viscogonioplasty was unclear.4,5 a randomized controlled trial was therefore conducted to confirm the effect, if any, of viscogonioplasty combined with cataract extraction compared with cataract extraction alone on lowering intraocular pressure in patients with poorly controlled narrow angle glaucoma.
